Abu Dhabi’s energy summit tackles urgency of climate change

  • The aim in the United Arab Emirates is to increase the contribution of clean energy to the total energy mix from 25% to 50% by 2050.

  • With only 12 years left, according to experts, to keep the world below a 2-degree Celsius temperature change — said to be the limit to avoid catastrophic consequences — energy is seen as a central aspect of addressing climate change.
